I’m sure you already know smoke screen has been used to hide tanks from bombers up until Vietnam and as a day light signal in the navy. Several spies in the movies have also used it and if you wanted you could probably rig you car up just like 007; as a mater of fact I think I will try that next batch I make.
Make or buy some potassium nitrate and some sugar. For a small batch mix 8 grams of sugar with 12 grams of potassium nitrate and place them in a small crucible or Pyrex container.
Put the container on a hot plate and heat it at about 90° C until all the sugar is melted. If you do not have a hot plate you can bring a larger pan of water to a boil and hold the container in the water. I suggest that you do not heat this on a open flame to ovoid catching the smoke screen on fire. If this does catch on fire it will fill you house with thick choking smoke. Boy I bet that your mom or wife would be happy about that.
Now you are finished so take it out side and light it. Try to ovoid breathing the smoke because I don’t think this is how the china men make it.
